AdSense

As the tutor of web mastering for beginners I often asked how much a beginning webmaster can earn with AdSense. Well, this question is like: "How much can I earn if I get a job?". Can you answer the last question for me? I dare no. To answer the question you need to know at least: what kind of job, what are my skills, will it be full time or part-time job, where I am situated geographically and so on.
There is no secret about how high AdSense earnings can be. However, nobody can predict your future earnings exactly as they depend on 5 major factors.
  1. Number of the visitors of your website or blog. This is the key number. The higher the number of the visitors, the higher your AdSense income will be. This number changes frequently (hopefully grows!) and has the most impact on your earnings. This the reason why nobody can say how much you will earn in general.
  2. The source of your traffic. This is the second factor that has the same importance as the first one. You achieve the best and highest income if your visitors come to your website from the search engines. No banners, no traffic exchange or purchase of cheap traffic will give you as much as FREE traffic from the search engines. If you would like to write a success story, at least 70% of your visitors should come from the search engines.
  3. The topic of your website, so called niche. If your website is about free stuff, jokes or fun, you will not earn a lot. The subject of the website should be about something that the people can buy. Hear, hear. Jokes are seldom sold, but cars or flowers. So making a website about products or (paid) services is a good decision.
  4. The placement of the ads on your website. This is another very important point that you should learn. Depending on where the AdSense ads appear on your website your income will increase or decline. If you experiment with different ad sizes, colours and placements, you can double your AdSense revenues with the same number of visitors and the same website.
  5. Be flexible and do not stop to learn. Earning money with AdSense depends on your soft skills as well. Once you have created a website, you cannot sit back, do nothing and say "I am ready to earn money". This is a process that never stops. You should have an entrepreneur qualities that helps you to analyze and market your writing.
Now, if you would like to know how much you can earn with AdSense, go through the key factors above and reflect on them. How many visitors can you get to your website or blog? How good is you knowledge in search engine optimization? What is the main topic of your website?
